Facilitation Operations Intern
Paid, Summer 2027 · Updated October 15, 2026
A paid twelve-week internship for a student who wants to see a training business from the inside: how a live session gets designed, run, proven and followed up. You work beside me on real programs, real cohorts and the real site. You are on payroll from day one, and what you build gets used.

| Applications | Open now, reviewed on a rolling basis through spring 2027 |
What you will produce
- A complete session kit for one live program module: facilitator guide, slides and participant handout, tested in a practice run before it reaches a cohort.
- Smooth live cohorts. You produce the room under my supervision: video setup, breakout rooms, polls, chat and recordings, then the same-day follow-up.
- Clean cohort operations: registration records, reminders, materials delivery and an evaluation summary after every session.
- Sourced articles. First drafts from my outlines, with every figure traced to its source, linked, and checked before I review it.
- A site that stays accurate: prices, cohort dates and glossary entries checked against the live pages every week.
- One project of your own, finished by August and presented to me in week twelve.
Required
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, or graduating in 2027. Any major.
- Available thirty to forty hours a week for twelve weeks between June and August 2027.
- Able to work Pacific time business hours. Most live sessions and most of the work happen on Pacific time.
- Care about accuracy: you would rather ask than publish something that might be wrong.
- Discretion with confidential information, with a confidentiality agreement on file.
- Comfortable with slides, documents, spreadsheets and video calls. I teach the rest.
- Time spent on this site before you apply. You have read at least three pages and can tell me what you would change on one.
Preferred
- Coursework in human resources, education, communications, instructional design, psychology or business.
- Experience teaching, tutoring, running a club or hosting events.
- Spanish fluency. This site has a Spanish edition.
- Interest in sitting for an HR certification such as the aPHR.
Spend twenty minutes here first
I want an intern who understands what this company is for before the first interview. Online Facilitation Skills is a brand of Urban Human Resources, which does the work this site teaches people to carry. Read these in this order. The application asks which one stuck with you and what you would change.
- Why this exists. Where the company comes from and who it is built for.
- How an engagement actually runs. The sequence from first consult to the thirty day check, which is the work you would help run.
- Run the Room Online. The live program you would help produce.
- The one page session plan. The plan every session starts from.
- The free tools. Free tools you would help keep accurate.
- Urban Human Resources. The parent company, and the clearest picture of where this brand fits.
What you get out of it
A weekly hour with me on your own development. Work across instructional design, live facilitation, California compliance training and content, not one narrow slice. A written reference on completion, and academic credit paperwork completed if your program requires it. Strong interns are considered first for future openings.
Pay, benefits and how I pay
The scale is the good-faith range I expect to pay, published the way California Labor Code section 432.3 requires of larger employers. Where an offer lands depends on relevant experience and demonstrated skill, not on what you earned before. I do not ask what that was. Remote interns are paid on the Bay Area scale wherever they live.
- Overtime at the rates the law requires for non-exempt roles.
- Paid sick leave as the law of the state where you work provides.
- Paid rest breaks and meal periods as required where you work.
- Business expenses reimbursed under California Labor Code section 2802, including an internet and phone stipend for remote work.
- Paid professional development, including certification fees.
Hiring process
- Every application is read in full, by me.
- A thirty-minute video interview.
- A working conversation: you walk me through a page on this site you would improve and a session you would want to run.
- Reference check, then an offer.
Apply
Everything below comes straight to me with your resume attached. The page confirms only when it has actually been sent. I do not ask about conviction history or salary history.
Application sent
It reached me, resume attached. I read every application in full. If it fits, I will email you to set up a thirty-minute video interview.
While you wait, read how an engagement actually runs. It is the work you would help run.
